Because of El Nino, Singapore has become very hot and families are using more electricity for air conditioning. Yet, cooling down doesn’t cost a lot! You can take the kids to water parks or swimming pools as an alternative to remaining home. While Adventure Cove and Wild Wild Wet are great places to visit, they can be expensive and far away. The good news is that there are free water play areas close to our homes! They’re ideal for a day out with the kids, just as much fun, and easy to find. Therefore, if you’re searching for a free water playground Singapore, there are some superb options nearby. 

 

Far East Organisation Children’s Garden at Gardens by the Bay

The children’s garden at Gardens By The Bay has three play areas. Two of them are dry, and one is a water playground. In the water playground Singapore, there are fun water features like fountains that turn on when you move near them. They make different water patterns! There are also speakers that play happy music in the play area.

You can find bathrooms, lockers & changing rooms there too. The garden is open from 9am to 7pm on Thursdays to Sundays.

 

Splash-N-Surf

There is a relaxing river, a half-pipe surf zone & a water play area for kids at Kallang Wave Mall. When it’s open, lifeguards are on duty to ensure everyone’s safety.

 There are five slides, cool water features, and a small pool with sprinklers for added enjoyment in the water play area. The water playground is free to use, however, the lazy river and half-pipe surf zone cost $2 and $30 to $35, respectively.

The place is open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., except Tuesdays and certain public holidays. 

 

Water Play @ Coastal PlayGrove – East Coast Park

At East Coast Park Area B, there’s a place called Coastal Playgrove. It has a water play area, the tallest outdoor play feature in Singapore, and a nature playgarden. The water playground has lots of pools that look like a stream, and it’s easy for people in wheelchairs to access. There are toilets nearby too.

You can go to this playground from 8 am to 8 pm every day except Mondays, and it’s open on Mondays if it’s a public holiday.

 

Wildlife Wet Play Area at Tampines 1

At the top of Tampines 1 mall, there’s a wildlife-themed water playground. Kids can enjoy slides, pools, and fountains here. They’ll find hippos that spray water and polar bear slides too. Parents can relax in a shaded area away from the sun. Plus, there are showers and changing areas available.

This playground is open:

  • 4 pm to 8 pm on Mondays
  • 12 pm to 8 pm from Tuesday to Friday
  • 10 am to 8 pm on weekends and public holidays

 

Clusia Cove- Jurong Lake Garden

Spread across 3 hectares, this playground has various play areas. There’s a big eco-pond, a sandbox, and a tidal pool. Kids can have fun controlling water flow with sluice gates and exploring rock pools. One cool thing about this playground is its natural water treatment system, which uses UV treatment to keep the water clean.

 

Choa Chu Kang Mini-Playground; Next to Keat Hong Community Centre

Located under the MRT tracks, this water playground has a transport theme. It has slides, buckets that splash water, fountains, and sprays. While it’s a bit smaller than other water playgrounds, it’s still lots of fun for kids.

Integrated Aquatic Theme Satellite Park

This water playground is in the middle of HDB blocks and it just opened in March 2024, so it’s one of the newest in Singapore. It has splash pads, fountains, and tunnels where water shoots out. Everyone can enjoy it for free, and there’s even a special area for younger kids to play in the water.

The playground is open every day from 8 am to 8 pm, and there are two places where you can take a shower nearby.

 

Dino Theme Water Play – Woodlands, Causeway Point level 7

On the 7th floor of Causeway Point, there’s a water playground Singapore with a dinosaur theme. It has lots of slides and fun water features, like a volcano that lights up and makes smoke.

The playground is open every day from 10 am to 9 pm, but it’s closed for maintenance every 2nd Monday of the month.

 

List of Things to Pack

If you’re planning a day out with your kids, remember to bring sunscreen to protect their skin. Don’t forget to pack towels and toiletries too, because many playgrounds have showers and changing rooms.
